10th Singapore Short Cuts

Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Singapore Short Cuts continues to be one of the most popular and widely anticipated showcases of local short films in Singapore. The program features a diverse selection of recent Singapore short films from documentaries to animation and experimental work with post-screening discussions with the filmmakers. Some of the filmmakers whose films have been featured in Singapore Short Cuts include Victric Thng, Eva Tang, Boo Junfeng, Wee Li Lin, Tan Pin Pin and Eric Khoo.

Viddsee.com, an online social watching service for filmmakers and audience of southeast asian short film viddeos, is partnering with the National Museum of Singapore to make 10 years worth of selected Singapore Short Cuts short films available for online viewing. From 15th July onwards, the public can watch one film a day for free at www.viddsee.com, in the lead-up to this year’s 10th Singapore Short Cuts held at the Museum in August.

Part of online showcase films include K Rajagopal’s “The New World”, Anthony Chen’s “G-23”, Sherman Ong’s “State of Things”, Jow Zhi Wei’s “Outing” and Tan Pin Pin’s “80km/hr”. Anthony Chen recently won the Caméra d’Or in Cannes for his feature film Ilo Ilo. Anthony will also be present to participate in an intimate dialogue session.

Singapore Short Cuts will be screened at The National Museum of Singapore on the following dates. 3, 4, 10, 11 August 2013, 2pm at the Gallery Theatre. Free admission with tickets.
