This coming November is going to be a carnival of art events and one of my favorite art fair will be happening on the 18th November. So which art event has got me all excited? Yes, it’s the Affordable Art Fair (AAF)!
Back at the F1 Pit Stop Building at Marina South and with over 70 Singapore and international art galleries signed up, this year’s Affordable Art Fair promised to be bigger and more exciting. Artworks will range from traditional oil painting to sculpture and photography to mixed-medium displays. There will also be free printmaking demonstrations, art education talks by the folks from Sotheby’s Institute of Arts and children workshops by Art Boot Camp. Now that takes the stress off parents who can check in their little ones for some fun while they checked out the art works at the fair.
Affordable Art Fair maiden entry last year astound many with it’s casual and laid back atmosphere, and the wide range of original artworks by international artists that are affordable. Diminishing the stereotype that only the rich and well-heeled can afford an original art work.
This year we will also get to see art works by celebrities such as Takashi Murakami and Damian Hirst who will be showcased alongside Singapore’s established talent, Justin Lee and emerging artist/photographer, Genervieve Chua.

But don’t you worry about the prices of the art works. As the name says, prices of all artworks ranges between S$100 to S$10,000, which 70% are under S$7500. And after your purchase, you can take the artworks home right away as the AAF offers free, professional wrapping and local delivery service. Or just sit back and relax with some refreshments available at the Restaurant, Cafe and Wine Bar.
Tickets for the Affordable Art Fair is now available at all Sistics outlets. Or you can purchase them at the door on the day of the event.
