The Whiteness of a Whale
The Whiteness of a Whale

I attended the exhibition titled “The Whiteness of a Whale by Zhao Renhui & Satoshi Kataoka” at the Jendela Gallery at The Esplanade a few days back. Zhao Renhui, also known as Robert Zhao, was the UOB Painting Of The Year winner in 2009.

Zhao Renhui – Whiteness of a Whale

This exhibition titled “The Whiteness Of A Whale” is his first solo after his 1-year art residency in Japan after winning the 2009 UOB Painting of the Year award for his controversial photographs. The exhibition is a collection of his photography and archival works from the Institute of Critical Zoologists about a rare white whale seen numerous times between 1982 and 2008 around the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Japan.
