A Blogger’s Guide: Busting Classical Music Myths, a preview of A Musical Chemistry

A couple of months ago, we gave you a preview of the Lanxess SNYO Classic on our article “A Blogger’s Guide: Busting Classical Music Myths, a preview of A Musical Chemistry” and gave away 10 pairs of dinner/concert tickets to the musical chemistry at the Esplanade Theatre.

Now the cool folks from Lanxess would like to invite you again to their upcoming concert, this Sunday, 10th July at the Botanical Gardens. Featuring the talents of the Singapore National Youth Orchestra (SNYO), A Musical Chemistry in the Woods brings the music performed at the LANXESS SNYO CLASSIC concert in April to the lush backdrop of Singapore’s iconic garden.

The concert will be conducted byJason Lai, whose recent post includes Principal Conductor of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory Orchestra at the National University of Singapore. Born in the UK, the studious and dishy looking conductor has made appearances with the Liverpool Mozart Orchestra and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain among many others. A prize winner at the 2005 Leeds Conducting Competition, Jason also conducted the London Symphony Orchestra and the Oxford University Orchestra.

A Musical Chemistry in the Woods is a concert under the umbrella of Singapore Youth Festival, which is into its 43rd year, held at the Shaw Symphony Stage, Singapore Botanic Gardens on Sunday, 10 July.
