At the recent Goodman Arts Centre 2nd Open House, the gracious master artist Mr Sun Yu-Li let the public paint “Looking for You” with him, bringing together strangers of all ages to create harmony. Their impromptu creativity and sincerity will travel to the cities of Bratislava and Prague later this month as this project was specially commissioned for the forthcoming Spotlight Singapore.

Mr Sun (pronounced the same way as the English word) initiated Sculpture Square, which became a key arts venue in Singapore. Through public interactive art, he has brought hundreds of kids to the Singapore Philatelic Museum, whilst many people still have the impression it is about old fashioned stamps.

In this video, he tells us the people in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic will participate in “Looking for You” in their public squares. Looking For You serves as a bridge between Singapore and the Slovak and Czech Republics.

Mr Sun’s characteristic dots and lines represent reaching out, engaging and intertwining between the four dynamic cities – Prague, Brno, Bratislava and Singapore. He truly has conviction in his tagline, Mapping The Universe. Four canvases would then be presented as gifts to the cities of Prague and Bratislava to represent a relationship that conveys a convergence of creative energy blossoming into an unexpected, yet positive outcome.
