28 July - 8 August 2017 Venue: That Spare Room*

“Step Country” is a solo exhibition by Yom Bo Sung that examines Singapore through a range of artworks that capture various aspects of society to create discourse, so as to form a more coherent understanding of our socio-political situation.

It explores ideas of identity, citizenry and culture with critical distance and invested detachment. It is his perspective of Singapore as the country that he was raised in and raised by and is a reflection of issues that he is trying to negotiate as he matures as an individual in Singapore’s society.
