Tales of the Swordfish by Main Wayang is a multidisciplinary production that brings together the playfulness of the traditional wayang kulit (shadow puppetry) with digital animation, theatre, VJ-ing and ‘live’ music. Mentored by and working hand-in-hand with Kuala Lumpur-based theatre group Main Wayang, beneficiaries of Singapore’s The Business Times Budding Artists Fund as well as young talents from The Malaysian High Commission take on a lead role to provide an alternative retelling of the popular Singapore folktale of the swordfish that is sure to enthrall audiences young and old.
