The latest edition of Arts in Your Neighbourhood (AYN), taking place from 10 to 27 March, returns with an emphasis on ‘play’ through an exciting line-up of 27 activities over three weeks, across 17 locations island-wide. People living and working in Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, Jurong, Yew Tee, Woodlands, Tanglin Halt, Bedok and Bishan can rediscover their neighbourhoods through diverse and interactive arts offerings.

In addition, this season will introduce a neighbourhood-specific focus, with six arts programmes taking place in Toa Payoh, of which two are new commissions drawing content and inspiration from its rich legacy as Singapore’s second-oldest satellite town.

REDISCOVERING NEIGHBOURHOODS
Members of the public can enjoy the arts while reliving their favourite childhood memories in Toa Payoh, as they gain a richer understanding of historically rich spaces and the people who live in them.

Background to Arts in Your Neighbourhood
The Arts in Your Neighbourhood (AYN) programme is part of the National Arts Council’s “Arts for All” initiative aimed at promoting self-expression, creativity and bonding through the arts by bringing it to where people live, work and play. AYN takes place over two seasons in a year. Established artists and arts groups present a series of interactive arts activities, across different genres – music, dance, theatre, visual and literary arts at different spaces across the island.
