At a former OCBC Bank premise which opened during the 1930s, The Vault occupies a double-storey shophouse in the hip Chinatown enclave. Inspired by its history and colourful surrounds, The Vault’s interior is an edgy mix of industrial copper and steel filled up with vibrant and dynamic content.

A casual bistro downstairs and a high-ceiling lounge upstairs, The Vault also makes space for art and music to thrive. Currently showcasing works titled, City of Dreams, by young Singaporean artist, Joyce Lee Shu Jun, till end September.

“City of Dreams uses the dream metaphor to address a soul herder, a dream seeker’s journey in the context of today’s society, the hard and soft edges of city life. Everyone have his or her own unique dream but not everyone’s dream can come true. In the process of one’s dream-seeking journey, he/she may lose his/her faith and knocked down by cruel reality. During dark and discouraging days, he/she needs to dream deep to get inspiration and not to abandon the fight. When God closes a door. He opens a window. Like Robert H. Schuller once said, “Build a dream and the dream will build you.” If you have a dream, give it a chance to happen.” – Joyce Lee Shu Jun

Expects Watercolor paintings and 2D paper sculptural works, mounted against the original brick wall of the building.
